The Hyundai Bayon is nearing its launch in India, with the SUV spotted arriving at a dealership and key details about its features, interior and exterior revealed. In terms of features, it is positioned above the Hyundai Venue. The Hyundai Bayon is scheduled to launch in India on October 26, with deliveries expected to commence in November.

On the exterior, the Hyundai logo is positioned on the bonnet rather than the grille. The design closely resembles the images officially released by the brand. It features muscular body cladding and an upright bonnet, giving it a prominent road presence. Moreover, Level 2 ADAS sensors are visible below the front number plate holder.

At the sides, the body cladding extends around the SUV. It sits on 17-inch alloy wheels, which are one size larger than those offered on the Venue. The ORVMs feature a blacked-out finish that contrasts with the red body colour.

The rear features a sharper and more muscular design, following the same design language as the front. Thick black body cladding further adds to its appearance.

Inside, the Bayon’s cabin is expected to resemble that of the new-generation Hyundai i20 hatchback revealed in Brazil a few months ago. It features a dual-screen setup, with one screen serving as the instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment system.

Beneath the touchscreen is a stack of physical controls, while the AC vents are positioned vertically. The air-conditioning controls are located between the vents. The cabin also features two USB Type-C ports, wireless phone charging and a set of buttons around the gear lever to operate the auto-hold function, front-seat ventilation and parking cameras. A panoramic sunroof is also visible in the dealership images.
These features position the Bayon as a more feature-rich offering than the Venue.

Powering the SUV will be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 113.4 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. The engine will be available with two transmission options: a manual gearbox and a CVT.
The Hyundai Bayon is expected to compete with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It is expected to be priced between Rs 9.5 lakh and Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). This would position it between the Hyundai Venue 1.2, priced between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 11.2 lakh, and the Hyundai Creta 1.5, priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 19 lakh.
