MG Starlight 560 SUV Design Patented In India

The design of the Wuling Starlight 560 SUV has been patented in India, with the filing listing SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Company Limited as the applicant. The design was registered in March 2026 and is expected to be rebadged and make its way to India under the JSW MG Motor India umbrella.

MG Starlight 560 design patented in India 1

The patented design closely mirrors the version currently sold in international markets. Test mules of the SUV have also been spotted testing in India on multiple occasions. Up front, the Starlight 560 features a tall and upright stance, with a large rectangular grille dominating the fascia. The grille gets a mesh-like pattern, while the headlamps are positioned high on the front end and appear to be horizontally aligned with squared-off edges.

In profile, the Starlight 560 adopts a boxy silhouette with an upright stance. It features a large glasshouse, a relatively flat window line and thick pillars. The wheel arches are a bit squared off, and similar to the test mule, the patent is sporting multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Towards the rear, the global model gets a wide tailgate and flat surfaces. The tail-lamps are horizontally oriented and positioned towards the outer edges, while the rear bumper appears chunky with a flat lower section.

Globally, the Starlight 560 is offered with both plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrains. The PHEV version uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 104 bhp, paired with a 20.5 kWh battery pack, delivering a combined output of 194 bhp and 230 Nm. The all-electric version, on the other hand, gets a 56.7 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted motor producing 134 bhp and 200 Nm, with a claimed range of up to 500 km (CLTC cycle).

It remains to be seen which of these powertrain options will be introduced in India, although the India-spec model is expected to broadly mirror the global configurations if launched.

At the time of unveiling the Majestor SUV, JSW MG Motor India also confirmed plans to introduce six new models in the country, including a plug-in hybrid SUV, and the Starlight 560 is likely to be part of that upcoming product lineup.

New Mercedes-Benz GLS, GLE, GLE Coupe Global Debut On March 31

March 2026 has turned out to be a busy month for Mercedes-Benz, and the German Giant isn’t done yet. After unveiling the new VLE and the updated Maybach S-Class earlier this month, the brand is now all set to reveal the facelifted GLE, GLE Coupe and GLS on March 31.

Also Read: 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Revealed With More Powerful V8, Updated Design

While many of the details are under wraps, spy shots of camouflaged test mules over the past few months have already offered a glimpse of what’s in store. As this is a mid-cycle update, the changes are expected to be more of a subtle refresh rather than a comprehensive overhaul. The exterior will likely get a revised front fascia in line with the brand’s latest design language, including a new bumper, a slightly larger grille, and updated headlamps featuring Mercedes’ signature star-pattern lighting elements.

The more noticeable updates are expected inside the cabin. The SUVs could get a new Superscreen setup that integrates three displays under a single glass panel, similar to newer Mercedes models. They are also likely to feature the latest fourth-generation MBUX infotainment system with enhanced AI-based functionality, along with redesigned air vents and an updated steering wheel.

Under the hood, Mercedes is expected to make small but meaningful updates. The GLE could get an updated inline-six engine with mild-hybrid tech, while the GLS might receive a more powerful V8.

It’s worth noting that these SUVs were already given a facelift in 2023. The refreshed models are expected to go on sale globally later this year or early 2027, and an India launch could be expected sometime in 2027.

Royal Enfield App Updated: Navigation Now Works With Phone Screen Locked

On the sidelines of launching the 2026 Guerrilla 450, Royal Enfield has also introduced an updated version of its mobile application. The latest update gets a host of new features and claimed improvements, which, according to the manufacturer, are based on user feedback received over the years.

Also Read: Updated Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 Launched: Gets Slip And Assist Clutch

Royal Enfield Mobile App Update 1

One of the highlights is improved navigation usability. The app now supports full-screen navigation even when the phone screen is locked on Android devices. Previously, navigation required the smartphone screen to always remain unlocked, which not only made it less convenient during rides but also led to significant battery drain. We expect this function to roll out for iOS devices in the coming days.

The app also introduces auto-lock and auto-wakeup functionality, allowing the screen to manage itself more effectively during use. Alongside this, Royal Enfield says overall performance has been optimised to extend battery life and minimise device heating, especially during longer rides where continuous navigation is in use.

Another addition is instant route sharing, enabling users to quickly send navigation routes via messaging or social media platforms. The app now also supports importing GPX files and even Google Maps routes directly, which will essentially make it easier to plan and follow custom routes. Moreover, a new persistent navigation feature ensures that users can resume directions from where they left off, even if the app is interrupted or closed in the midst of a ride.

The update also brings quick-access favourites, allowing riders to set commonly used destinations such as home or office for one-tap navigation. Additionally, Royal Enfield has moved to a unified global app experience, which aims at providing consistency in features and usability across different regions.

Triumph 350cc Motorcycles Set To Launch On April 6-7

Triumph is gearing up for the launch of a new range of under 350cc displacement versions of its popular models like the Speed 400, Scrambler 400X and the Thruxton 400. This comes in as the company has scheduled a launch event for April 6-7, and the prices of the upcoming models are expected to be announced at the event.

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC web 20

The key reason behind this strategy is to bring down the pricing. With regards to the recent changes to the tax structure, motorcycles above 350cc attract a much higher tax rate compared to the ones below it. By bringing the engine displacement below the 350cc mark, Triumph can sell the new motorcycles in the lower 18 per cent tax bracket, which currently is in the 40 per cent GST tax bracket. This move will make the Speed, Scrambler and Thruxton models more accessible to buyers in the Indian market.

Also Read: Triumph Motorcycles Hits 1 Lakh Sales In India

Triumph Thruxton 400 web 27

The new models receive a revised version of the existing 400cc single-cylinder platform developed in partnership with Bajaj Auto. The displacement reduction will most likely come from a smaller bore, which should slightly lower the power output compared to the current 399cc engine that produces around 40 bhp. With the updated pricing, Triumph should be able to re-strengthen its positioning in the sub-400 cc motorcycle segment.

Starting with the cosmetics, the changes to the surface are not too apparent. The front air intake gets some minor tweaks with the 4D millimetre wave radar now integrated into the grille, and the SU7 gets wider brake cooling ducts as well. Other cosmetic updates come in the form of new wheel designs as well as new colourways borrowed from the SU7 Ultra and YU7 SUV. That said, Xiaomi says that up to 90 per cent of the SU7’s bodyshell is now comprised of ultra-high strength steel and aluminium alloy for improved structural rigidity and safety, with the sedan also featuring a concealed integrated roll cage. Additionally, in line with recent Chinese regulations, the sedan now gets a mechanical cable mechanism for the door handles.
