BYD’s luxury brand Yangwang is preparing to introduce the Altior, a new flagship sedan expected to make its public debut in Dubai on November 5. Previously known by the codename HU, it will be called Dingyao in China. Teaser images show a formal, upright design with rear-hinged rear doors and a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor.
The Altior is likely to draw on Yangwang’s existing focus on advanced electric and hybrid technology, though BYD has not confirmed its powertrain or specifications. Globally, it is expected to compete with chauffeur-focused luxury sedans such as the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, as well as China’s Maextro S800.
