Earlier this year, it seemed like Aprilia’s SXR range could be on its way out of the Indian market. However, Aprilia India has now revealed the all-new SXR GT 175 and its smaller sibling, the SXR GT 125, ahead of the duo's launch later this month. Following the SR 160’s transition to the SR 175, the SXR range also gets the larger 175cc engine, with both the 125cc and 175cc versions receiving a few updates over the erstwhile 160 and 125 SXR models.
Aprilia SXR GT 175, SXR GT 125: Design And Colours
The SXR GT models get new graphics and colour schemes, while retaining the signature Tripod LED headlamp. The 175 also gets new footboard graphics inspired by the brand’s larger GT range sold overseas. The SXR GT 125 is available in Matte Black, Glossy Azzurro and Glossy White, while the 175 gets Metallic Blue, Matte Black and Matte Green.
Aprilia SXR GT 175, SXR GT 125: Engine
Just like the SR 175, the SXR GT sports the larger 174.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It produces 13 bhp at 7,200rpm and 14.14 Nm at 6,000rpm. On the other hand, the SXR GT 125 gets a 124.45cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, producing 10 bhp at 7,400rpm and 10.4 Nm at 6,200rpm.
Aprilia SXR GT 175, SXR GT 125: Features
The 175 gets a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, music and call management, navigation and turn-by-turn directions. It also gets an additional mode switch on the right side. On the other hand, the SXR GT 125 gets a 5-inch LCD unit.
Aprilia SXR GT 175, SXR GT 125: Hardware
Both scooters now ride on 14-inch wheels, up from the 12-inch pairs earlier. The SXR GT 175 gets a 220mm front disc with ABS and a 140mm rear drum. The 125 features a 220mm front disc with CBS and a 140mm rear drum. Both scooters get telescopic front forks and twin shocks at the rear with five-position adjustment.
Aprilia SXR GT 175, SXR GT 125: Bookings And Launch
Bookings are now open at Aprilia dealerships across India, with the launch slated for later this month. Aprilia will offer a manually adjustable windshield, crash guard and top box as accessories for the SXR GT range.
