The Indian passenger vehicle Industry saw a healthy growth in October 2025 when it came to domestic sales, exports as well as production. The festive season contributed to positive sales along with the new GST rates which made most products more affordable that before. Cars saw a bigger jump than two and three-wheelers while exports too saw a decent uptick too during the month. In all 26,91,620 vehicles were sold in the domestic market in October, which was 4.1 % more than October 2024.

Electric vehicles also performed well during October.
Taking about passenger cars, 3,99,605 units were sold last month which is a jump of 15.8 % when compared to same period last year when 3,45,107 vehicles were sold. Additionally a total of 68,738 cars were exported which was a jump of 11.7 % Y-O-Y while 4,03,270 units were produced during the month which is 9.8 % more than October 2024. However these are not absolute numbers as data does not include vehicles sold by 5 manufacturers - Tata Motors, JLR, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo.

Two-wheeler sales almost remained flat in October
Two-wheeler sales were not as enthusiastic despite the festive month. In all 22,10,727 units were sold in the domestic market in October which was just 2.1 % more than the same period last year. Export performance was better as 4,30,035 units were sent out during this time which is a jump of 17.7 % over October 2024. Production saw a slight dip as 28,01,412 were vehicles were manufactured which is 2.8 % lesser than October 2024. Domestic three-wheeler sales jumped by 5.9 % during the month.
