2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift Launched In India At Rs 2.20 Crore

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the facelifted S-Class in the country with a starting price of Rs 2.20 Crore (ex-showroom). Revealed globally earlier this year, the updated flagship sedan brings a host of styling, tech and powertrain upgrades. Mercedes-Benz claims around half of the vehicle has been reworked, with the biggest headline being the plug-in hybrid powertrain for India in the 450e spec. Deliveries are slated to begin in Q4 2026.

2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class: Exterior

2026 Mercedes Benz S Class Facelift 1

Starting with the looks. The exterior updates are subtle, though there are enough changes to distinguish the facelift from its predecessor. Up front, the S-Class gets a larger grille featuring multiple embedded three-point star motifs, while the headlamps now incorporate Mercedes-Benz's latest three-point star LED daytime running light signature.

2026 Mercedes Benz S Class Facelift 2

The bumper has also been redesigned and features additional chrome detailing. In profile, the changes are subtler, with the most noticeable update being a new range of alloy wheel designs. Among them are intricate 50-spoke wheels manufactured using a new high-pressure casting process. At the rear, the S-Class receives slimmer tail-lamps that mirror the front lighting theme with illuminated three-point star graphics.

Mercedes-Benz has also expanded the colour palette with several new paint options, including shades previously reserved for its Manufaktur customisation programme.

2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class: Interior And Features

2026 Mercedes Benz S Class Facelift 3

The cabin receives a more comprehensive update. The centrepiece is Mercedes-Benz's new Superscreen setup, which combines a 14.4-inch central touchscreen with two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and front passenger. The system runs the latest MB.OS software architecture and supports over-the-air updates.

Mercedes has also integrated a new suite of AI-powered functions, including an enhanced voice assistant, Google Maps-based navigation and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication capabilities.

2026 Mercedes Benz S Class Facelift 6

The dashboard layout has been streamlined. Like the latest E-Class, the air-con vents are electrically operated and can be adjusted digitally through the touchscreen, though manual adjustment remains. Physical buttons have been reduced, though Mercedes has retained some physical interaction points by introducing a new scroll wheel and toggle switch on the steering wheel to improve usability while driving.

Another notable change is the removal of the fingerprint scanner. Instead, facial recognition tech now handles user authentication via a camera mounted on the dashboard. The same camera can also be used for video conferencing, selfies and cabin monitoring while the vehicle is parked.

2026 Mercedes Benz S Class Facelift 5

Rear seat occupants continue to get twin 13.1-inch entertainment screens, though the outgoing tablet-style rear controller has been replaced by two smaller handheld touch controllers resembling smartphones.

2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class: Powertrain

2026 S Class

The biggest mechanical update comes under the hood as the S-Class now introduces a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The setup combines a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor and a 21.96 kWh battery pack, enabling an electric-only driving range of up to 117 km on a full charge. Speaking of charge, Mercedes-Benz says the battery pack can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 20 minutes using a 60 kW DC fast charger. The plug-in hybrid setup is also claimed to deliver a combined fuel efficiency figure of 32.3 kmpl (WLTP).

Globally, Mercedes offers the system in two configurations. The S450e develops 429 bhp and 680 Nm, while the more powerful S 580e produces 577 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. The latter also comes equipped with Mercedes-Benz's 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. For now, the carmaker has only introduced the S450e trim in India for which, power is sent to the rear wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Offered With Rs 2.89 Lakh Discount

Kawasaki has extended its Rs 2.89 lakh discount on the Ninja ZX-10R, with the offer now valid until the end of June 2026. The same benefit was first introduced in March this year and has now been carried forward. With the discount applied, the litre-class superbike is available at an effective ex-showroom price of Rs 17.90 lakh, down from its listed price of Rs 20.79 lakh. Kawasaki announced the extension through its official social media channels.

The Ninja ZX-10R continues to be powered by a 999 cc liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that develops 200 bhp at 13,200 rpm and 114.9 Nm of torque at 11,400 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and comes equipped with an assist and slipper clutch.

The ZX-10R has traditionally been among the more competitively priced litre-class superbikes in the Indian market. The latest discount widens the gap further, making it one of the more affordable options in the segment. For reference, its rivals in the Indian market are the BMW S 1000 RR (Rs 23.25 lakh) and the Ducati Panigale V4 (Rs 32.70 lakh).

Feature highlights include a TFT instrument console, multiple riding modes, traction control, launch control, engine brake management, cruise control and a bi-directional quickshifter. The motorcycle also benefits from Kawasaki's suite of electronic rider aids developed from its experience in World Superbike racing.

The offer is applicable to the 2025 model year Ninja ZX-10R and remains valid until June 30, 2026, subject to availability.

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse Revealed; Previews Electric M3

BMW has taken the wraps off the M Concept Neue Klasse at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, previewing what is expected to become the brand's first all-electric M3. While the German marque is stopping short of officially calling it the iM3, the concept appears curiously close to production and shares much of its shape and proportions with the standard Neue Klasse i3 sedan revealed earlier this year.

The concept also marks the debut of BMW M's next-generation design language, which ties familiar performance-car cues with EV-specific elements. According to BMW, the M Concept Neue Klasse is intended to showcase how future high-performance electric M models will intertwine design, tech and driving dynamics.

BMW M Concept: Exterior

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse 1

Starting with the looks. The M Concept Neue Klasse is instantly recognisable as a BMW M product despite lacking a heart under the hood. The familiar long-wheelbase sports sedan proportions remain, complemented by flared wheel arches, a muscular shoulder line and a low, planted stance.

The front end adopts the Neue Klasse's signature shark-nose design, but receives several M-specific touches. The kidney grille and headlights are integrated into a single visual unit, while new yellow lighting elements reference BMW's GT racing cars and the BMW M Hybrid V8 endurance racer. A large V-shaped vent on the bonnet helps cool the electric drivetrain, while redesigned aerodynamic mirrors in BMW M colours improve airflow.

Further down, the front bumper uses what BMW calls a "trimaran" design, inspired by high-speed sailing boats. Besides giving the car a more aggressive appearance, it also helps support the front splitter and manage airflow around the vehicle.

Also Read: Manual-Only BMW M3 CS Revealed

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse 2

At the rear, the concept features a pronounced ducktail spoiler, a large diffuser and new three-dimensional "Track Lights" integrated into the bumper. BMW has also incorporated natural-fibre composite materials into components such as the front splitter, bonnet vent and rear diffuser.

Finished in a new Monza Red metallic paint scheme, the concept rides on centre-lock style wheels featuring red and blue accents inspired by BMW M's motorsport heritage.

BMW M Concept: Interior

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse 3

Coming to the interior. The M Concept Neue Klasse appears much closer to production than many concept cars typically do. The dashboard layout closely mirrors that of the standard Neue Klasse sedan, with a simple design centred around BMW's new panoramic head-up display system stretching across the base of the windscreen.

The cabin features four newly developed bucket seats trimmed in a combination of blue and red Merino leather, reflecting BMW M's signature colours. Structural elements within the seats are made from natural-fibre materials, while red five-point harnesses emphasise the motorsport-inspired theme.

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse 4

BMW has also introduced black nubuck leather for the first time in an M vehicle, applying it to the steering wheel, door panels and roll bar. The dashboard is trimmed in black knitted material with hexagonal backlighting, while red accents on the steering wheel, paddles and digital interfaces add contrast throughout the cabin.

BMW M Concept: Powertrain

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse 6

BMW has yet to reveal power and torque figures, but it has confirmed that the concept uses a quad-motor electric drivetrain. The setup is paired with a new control system called BMW M Dynamic Performance Control, which works alongside the company's "Heart of Joy" central computing architecture.

The system independently manages power delivery and braking at each wheel, claiming more precise torque distribution, improved traction and improved handling. BMW says the tech is designed to preserve the engagement and agility expected from an M car despite the switch to electric propulsion.

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse 5

The concept is based on BMW's sixth-generation EV architecture and features an 800-volt electrical system paired with a battery pack exceeding 100 kWh in capacity. BMW says the new cylindrical battery cells have been optimised specifically for M applications.

BMW M Concept: What Happens Next?

Although BMW has not confirmed a production name, the M Concept Neue Klasse is widely expected to evolve into the electric successor to the M3. Judging by the nearly production-ready exterior, interior and underlying tech package, the finished model is unlikely to differ dramatically from what has been shown at Le Mans.

New-Gen Hyundai i20 Revealed

Hyundai has been teasing the fourth-generation i20 for the Brazilian market for some time now, and the hatchback has finally been revealed in full. The biggest change to the all-new i20 is its exterior design, which moves away from the sharp, sporty styling of the current model in favour of a more upright look with several crossover-inspired elements.

New Hyundai i20: Exterior

New Gen Hyundai i20 7

At first glance, the new i20 appears noticeably more substantial than its predecessor. The front end is characterised by Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps linked by a slim light bar, while the bumper gets prominent black cladding and a layered design.

From the side, the crossover influence becomes even more apparent. The wheel arches are more pronounced, the body gets thick black cladding along the lower edges, and the window line kicks upwards sharply towards the rear. Higher variants ride on 17-inch alloy wheels.

At the rear, the i20 receives connected LED tail lamps, a chunky bumper with silver detailing and a roof spoiler integrated into the tailgate design. Overall, the new model appears closer to a crossover hatchback than a conventional small car.

New Hyundai i20: Dimensions

New Gen Hyundai i20 1

The fourth-generation i20 has also grown in size compared to the third-gen model currently sold in India. At 4,130 mm long, it is 135 mm longer than it, while width has increased marginally by 5 mm to 1,780 mm. Height has been reduced by 10 mm to 1,495 mm. Interestingly, the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,580 mm.

New Hyundai i20: Interior and Features

New Gen Hyundai i20 3

Inside, Hyundai has thoroughly redesigned the cabin. The dashboard is now dominated by a curved display panel that houses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen within a single frame on higher variants. The centre console follows a cleaner vertical layout, with slim air-conditioning vents flanking the climate controls and a new three-spoke steering wheel featuring Hyundai's Morse-code-inspired illuminated logo.

The cabin is finished in a combination of grey and cream shades. Other notable elements include soft-touch materials across the dashboard and doors, semi-leatherette upholstery with subtle i20 branding embossed into the seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, over-the-air software updates, a wireless charging pad and rear AC vents.

Interestingly, the Brazil-spec model does not appear to feature a sunroof, though the current India-spec i20 offers on higher trims.

Safety equipment has also been upgraded. Six airbags are standard across the range, while higher variants can be equipped with Hyundai's SmartSense ADAS suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and safe exit warning.

New Gen Hyundai i20 6

New Hyundai i20: Powertrain and Variants

Powertrain options include naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions of Hyundai's 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. The turbocharged unit develops 115 hp and 172 Nm of torque. For Brazil, Hyundai will offer the new i20 in six variants: Comfort, Limited, Limited Turbo, X Line, Platinum and Ultimate.

It goes up against the likes of the BMW S 1000 RR and the Ducati Panigale V4 S.
