MG Majestor Launched In India At Rs 40.99 Lakh

A month after entering the Guinness Book of World Records for “Heaviest Train Pulled by an SUV on Rail", JSW MG Motor India has launched the Majestor SUV in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 40.99. The SUV, for now, is available in a single Savvy variant with both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options.

Currently, the Majestor slots above the Gloster in MG’s lineup with updated styling and a more feature-rich package, while retaining the same platform as the latter. Prices for the Gloster SUV range between Rs 38.33 lakh and Rs 46.43 lakh. Meanwhile, prices for the Majestor top out at Rs 44.99 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

MG Majestor: Exterior

 

Compared to the Gloster, the Majestor gets a more squared-off look. It gets a revised front-end design with a prominent ‘Mosaic Matrix’ grille, fresh LED DRLs, and tri-beam LED projector headlamps positioned lower on the bumper. The bumper itself is chunky and has a pronounced skid plate. 

In profile, the SUV rides on 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and gets prominent wheel arches, side steps and slim roof rails. At the rear, it features newly designed LED tail-lamps connected by a light bar with 'Morris Garage' spelt out above, along with the ‘Majestor’ name sitting below. The rear bumper gets heavy cladding, faux exhaust tips and a skid plate. Both trims of the Majestor are offered in four colour options: Black Ash, Black Metal, Concrete Grey and Pearl White. 

 

Measuring 5,046mm in length, 2,016mm in width, and with a 2,950mm wheelbase, MG claims the Majestor is the largest SUV in its segment. Boot space is rated at 343 litres with all three rows up, and expands to 1,350 litres with the third row folded.

MG Majestor: Interior & Features

Compared to the Gloster, the cabin has been reworked with a new dashboard layout centred around a freestanding 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets a fully digital instrument cluster of the same size and a redesigned centre console with twin wireless charging pads.

The Majestor offers powered front seats with 12-way adjustment for the driver, along with ventilation and multi-mode massage functions. The cabin is finished in a ‘smoked ebony’ theme and is available in both six- and seven-seat layouts, with captain seats for the second row. The six-seat option is offered only in 4x2 spec.

Other highlights include three-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and more.

 

Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard, while Level 2 ADAS is only offered on the top-spec trim. Key features include autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and blind spot detection, among others.

 

MG Majestor: Engine

Powering the Majestor is the same 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, which is borrowed from the Gloster. It churns out 212 bhp and 479 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

 

The SUV is offered in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations. The four-wheel drive variant comes equipped with 10 terrain modes, including Sand, Snow, Rock and Mud, along with a triple differential lock and a crawl control function. It also gets three drive modes as standard – Sport, Normal, Eco – while the water wading capacity is 810mm.

 

MG Majestor: Rivals & Price

 

The Majestor’s chief rival in the Indian market is the Toyota Fortuner, which is priced between Rs 34.76 lakh and Rs 50.46 lakh (ex-showroom).

Renault Duster Turbo DCT Real-World Fuel Efficiency Tested

The new Renault Duster has finally returned, and we recently got our hands on the hot 1.3-litre turbo-petrol automatic version. For those who think the 1.0-litre doesn’t cut it, and the hybrid is too long a wait, we put this powertrain through our real-world fuel-efficiency tests to see how economical it actually is in everyday driving conditions.

Powered by a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 160 bhp, the Duster comes paired with a 7-speed wet-clutch dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Renault’s focus with this setup is clearly on balancing performance with usability, and the real-world numbers reflect that. 

During our city fuel-efficiency test, the Duster returned 9.2 kmpl. On the highway, the figure improved significantly to 15.5 kmpl. Interestingly, the SUV’s MID displayed more optimistic numbers throughout the test cycle. During the city run, the indicated fuel efficiency hovered around 11 kmpl, while highway driving showed close to 19 kmpl. The difference between indicated and actual efficiency worked out to nearly 3 kmpl.

1035 bhp Ferrari Luce Is Brand’s First-Ever Electric Car

Ferrari has lifted the covers off the all-new Luce, the brand’s first-ever electric GT and one that is very likely to split opinion. The Luce shares very little in terms of design with any other Ferrari – current or past, with the EV also holding the distinction of being the first Ferrari ever to offer a proper 5-seater cabin with a bench seat in the rear.

Ferrari Luce EV: Design & Styling

Starting with the design, the Luce is the result of a design collaboration between Ferrari’s in-house design studio and LoveFrom, a design studio headed by Sir Jonathan Paul Ive – the person credited with designing the first iPhone. To that end, the Luce’s design is unconventional when compared to other Ferraris. The central passenger cell is finished in black with the remainder of the bodywork essentially wrapped around it and incorporating hidden aerodynamic elements. Up front, the Luce features an aerodynamic wing integrated at the top of the fascia, with the bonnet structure flowing lower down into the front bumper, which features active flaps over the vents to improve aero.

Moving to the sides, the Luce features a four-door design with suicide-style (rear-hinged) rear doors, operated via buttons neatly integrated into the door panels at the B-pillar. The front doors feature a prominent black-finished recessed vent replete with a Ferrari logo. At the rear, the top of the boot lid neatly integrates a spoiler into the bodywork. The circular taillamps – possibly the only links to Ferrari’s of the past are integrated into a blacked-out panel that spans the width of the boot lid.

Overall, the Luce’s design comes across as more of an acquired taste and one that will split opinion.

Ferrari first provided a look at the Luce’s cabin back in February, and the biggest talking point here is the seating. This is Ferrari’s first proper 5-seater, with the new EV architecture allowing the Italian supercar maker to offer a flat floor at the rear. Up front, the dashboard follows a retro-minimalist theme with the digital instrument cluster designed to appear as a more traditional trio of analogue displays while the central touchscreen is mounted on a pivoting joint allowing it to be rotated towards the driver or front passenger. Unlike other Ferraris, there is no dedicated front passenger display.

 

The rear seats get their own climate controls with a screen built into the back of the central floor console.

Ferrari Luce EV: Powertrain

 

Exterior design aside, the other big talking points are the detailed specifications of the EV. The Luce’s quad-motor all-wheel drive powertrain develops a peak 1035 bhp and 990 Nm (11,500 Nm at the wheels) with launch control activated making it powerful in its own right but its far from the most power Ferrari – the F80 makes 1186 bhp from a V6 PHEV drivetrain, or the most powerful quad-motor EV in the market – that record stands with BYD’s YangWang U9 Xtreme with over 2900 bhp. Even AMG’s new all-electric GT Four-Door develops a peak 1153 bhp from a tri-motor set-up.

In terms of outright performance, Ferrari claims a 0-100 kmph time of 2.5 seconds, a 0-200 kmph time of 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 310 kmph. In terms of range, the 122 kWh battery will offer a range of over 530 km – a WLTP-tested figure is still awaited. The Luce weighs a cool 2,260 kg.

As mentioned previously by Ferrari, the Luce features an 800V EV architecture capable of supporting peak DC charging at up to 350 kW. Ferrari says that the Luce can also support peak rates of up to 150 kW at 400V chargers out of the box.

 

An interesting aspect of the Luce is the engine note. Ferrari has chosen to forgo offering buyers a synthetic V8 or V12 engine note from the speakers instead using precision accelerometers to pick up the vibrations of the chassis components from the electric motors, running the audio through a filtering and equalisation system and pumping the finished audio into the cabin and outside the vehicle. Depending on the drive modes, the audio can be turned off.

 

Ferrari Luce EV: Dynamics

 

With the Luce, Ferrari offers multiple levels of performance tailoring based around the paddle shifters behind the wheel and the five-position Manettino and three-position e-Manettino switches. The Manettino switch can adjust the vehicle’s performance based on road conditions ranging from ICE to ESC Off, while the e-Manettino lets users control the amount of peak power available at any given time. The e-Manettino offers three modes to pick between – Range that turns the Luce into a rear-wheel drive vehicle with peak output capped at 429 bhp and a 260 kmph top speed to maximise range. Tour unlocks the front axle, taking peak power to 617 bhp, while Performance unlocks 972 bhp and the 310 kmph top speed.

As for the paddle shifters, Ferrari says that the left unit controls the intensity of the brake energy recuperation while the right unit allows users to adjust the torque delivery profiles across five power levels.

 

Ferrari says that the four-motor set-up also allows it to offer full torque vectoring capabilities on both axles during both acceleration and braking to enhance vehicle stability.

Honda ADV 160 Design Patented In India

Honda has filed a design patent for the ADV 160 in India. This comes shortly after the brand patented the WN7 electric motorcycle and the Airblade maxi-scooter in the country.

 

Globally, the ADV 160 is positioned as a more rugged alternative to conventional maxi-scooters. The design features a tall windscreen, sharp bodywork, long-travel suspension setup and semi-block pattern tyres.

The ADV 160 is powered by a 157cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine churning out 16 bhp and 14.7 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission.

 

Suspension duties are handled by a 31 mm telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. The braking setup includes a 240 mm front disc brake with ABS and a rear drum brake. The scooter rides on a 14-inch front wheel and a 13-inch rear wheel.

In terms of dimensions, the ADV 160 gets a wheelbase of 1,323 mm, while seat height stands at 780 mm. The scooter tips the scale at around 133 kg, while the fuel tank capacity is rated at nearly 8 litres.

 

At this stage, Honda has only patented the scooter’s design, which could simply be part of its regular intellectual property protection exercise. However, if Honda does decide to launch the ADV 160 here, it would enter a relatively niche segment that currently has limited options. At present, the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160 are among the few underbone-style premium scooters in the 150cc-plus category available in India. 

Moreover, the premium maxi-scooter segment has steadily started gaining attention in India, and the ADV 160 could potentially help Honda strengthen its presence.

MG Majestor Production Commences Ahead Of Launch

JSW MG Motor India has commenced production of the upcoming Majestor SUV at its manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, ahead of its market launch. The flagship SUV has already been opened for pre-bookings, with a token amount of Rs 41,000. The Majestor will be offered in two variants: Sharp and Savvy, with both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations available. However, the 4x4 setup will be limited to the top-spec Savvy trim.

 

Under the hood, the Majestor borrows the familiar 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine from the Gloster. The motor produces 212 bhp and 479 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The four-wheel-drive version comes equipped with a more serious off-road package, including 10 terrain modes such as Sand, Snow, Rock and Mud. MG has also equipped the SUV with a triple differential lock, crawl control, and selectable Sport, Normal and Eco drive modes. Water wading capacity is rated at 810 mm.

 

Visually, the Majestor gets a significantly bolder design than the Gloster. Up front, it features a large Mosaic Matrix grille, vertically stacked lighting elements, and tri-beam LED projector headlamps positioned lower on the bumper. The SUV also gets a chunky front bumper with a prominent silver skid plate.

In profile, the SUV rides on 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and features squared wheel arches, side steps and slim roof rails. At the rear, the Majestor gets connected LED tail-lamps joined by a full-width light bar, with ‘Morris Garages’ lettering placed prominently across the tailgate.

Inside, the dashboard is dominated by a 12.3-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The redesigned centre console houses twin wireless charging pads, while the front seats get 12-way power adjustment, ventilation and multi-mode massage functionality.

 

On the safety front, MG is offering six airbags as standard, while the Level 2 ADAS suite will be limited to the top-spec variant.

Prices for the Majestor are expected to be announced in the coming days and could start at Rs 42 lakh and go up to Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will rival models such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and the likes.

TVS Jupiter 125 Gets Two New Colours

TVS Motor Company has updated the Jupiter 125 in India with the introduction of two new colours for the scooter. Called Ivory Elite Green and Ivory Matte Copper Bronze, the new dual-tone shades are being offered exclusively with the DT SXC variant of the Jupiter 125 alongside the existing colourways. Beside the cosmetic update, TVS has also revised the scooter’s prices, with the lineup now costing up to Rs. 1,000 more than before.

The new paint schemes follow a dual-tone theme that give the Jupiter 125 a more premium appearance. The Ivory Elite Green combines light green body panels with white accents on the apron, floorboard section, and grab rail, while the inner apron and floorboard area receives a beige finish. Meanwhile, the Ivory Matte Copper Bronze uses a similar layout but swaps the green highlights for bronze elements, also resulting in a rich and elegant look.

Apart from these updates, the scooter remains unchanged mechanically. It continues to use the same 124.8cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.7bhp and 11.1Nm of torque. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking at the front is handled by a disc for the higher variants and a drum for the lower variants. Drum brake is standard at the rear for all variants. The scooter has a kerb weight of 109 kg, seat height of 765 mm and ground clearance of 163 mm.

With the new colours and updated pricing, TVS seems to be aiming at keeping the Jupiter 125 lineup fresh in an increasingly competitive family scooter segment, while also adding a touch of visual sophistication to the range.

2026 Tata Tiago EV Facelift Interior Revealed; Gets New Dash, 360 Deg Cameras, Rear AC Vents

Tata has now pulled the covers off the interior of the upcoming 2026 Tiago EV facelift ahead of its May 28 launch, and at first glance, it’s not that different from its ICE sibling. The Tiago EV looks to broadly inherit the same design and feature set as its internal combustion sibling, with some features from the outgoing model seemingly no longer being offered.

Starting with the dashboard, you get the same low-set flat-top design as seen in the soon-to-launch ICE Tiago facelift, with two freestanding displays at the top. The dashtop also features a fabric wrap around the two screens to add a soft-touch element to the unit. The dial-style air-con controls are still retained lower down, with the few switches on the central console visible also being physical vis-à-vis the touch-sensitive controls seen on other larger Tatas.

Differences from its ICE sibling include a new offset Tata.ev logo on the two-spoke steering wheel, replacing the stylised T logo at the centre, and the dark inserts on the seat backs and upper backrest have been dropped for a more single-tone look. Sharp-eyed spotters will also note that the cabin is now finished in fabric upholstery, as opposed to the leatherette upholstery on the outgoing model. The EV also gets the new design power window switches compared to its ICE sibling.

On the feature front, the biggest talking point is the addition of 360-degree cameras to the small hatchback as well as the provision of rear AC vents. Other features look to include a 10.25-inch touchscreen – added in the 2025 update and a digital instrument cluster which, while looking like a free-standing display, looks to retain the graphics of the outgoing model. The display features bar-style readouts on either side flanking a dot-matrix style MID in the centre.

Powertrain details for the facelifted Tiago EV are still under wraps, though we could expect the small electric hatch to also move to Tata’s new-gen compact electric motor unveiled in the facelifted Punch EV. Also expected are new, more energy-dense battery packs that could boost usable range.

Speaking at the event, Gadkari said, “Vehicles with such flex-fuel engines are going to be introduced on a large scale soon. On the occasion of Environment Day this year, there is a programme in Delhi where Maruti Suzuki will launch vehicles running 100% on ethanol.”

Suzuki had showcased a flex-fuel variant of the Fronx alongside an E85-ready Gixxer 250 flex-fuel motorcycle at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show.

 

Maruti Suzuki’s parent firm Suzuki Japan showcased a flex-fuel iteration of the Fronx subcompact SUV at last year's Japan Mobility Show 2025 alongside a range of other two- and four-wheelers including a compressed biogas-powered Victoris. Suzuki provided few details of the Fronx Fuel-Fuel at the time outside of the vehicle’s dimensions.

Compared to the India-spec model, the Fronx sold in Japan gets the larger naturally aspirated 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine paired with manual and automatic gearbox options. In India, the subcompact SUV is offered with either a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol or 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine option, both with manual and automatic (AMT on the 1.2 petrol).

BMW M 1000 RR Isle of Man TT Edition Revealed: Limited To 115 Units

BMW Motorrad has revealed the M 1000 RR Isle of Man TT Edition, a limited-run superbike created to commemorate the 115th running of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy in 2026. Based on the BMW M 1000 RR M Competition, the special edition will be limited to just 115 units globally.

The motorcycle celebrates BMW Motorrad’s long-standing association with the Isle of Man TT, one of the most iconic road races in the world, while adding a number of edition-specific cosmetic and collector-focused elements.

 

Visually, the standout feature is the British Racing Green Uni Matt paint finish combined with TT-specific graphics inspired by the Isle of Man Mountain Course. BMW says the left side fairing features selected left-hand corners from the circuit, while the right side carries graphics of right-hand bends from the TT course.

 

The bike also gets a Satin Chrome-finished aluminium fuel tank, black swingarm and a matte-finished carbon fibre airbox cover featuring Mountain Course graphics and TT branding. Other special touches include a black Alcantara seat, TT badging on the rear frame and individually milled numbering on the top yoke.

 

BMW Motorrad is also bundling several accessories with the special edition, including an M Race Cover Kit, rear paddock stand, mounting hardware and a dedicated M motorcycle mat featuring both BMW M and TT logos.

Mechanically, the Isle of Man TT Edition remains identical to the standard M 1000 RR M Competition. The superbike continues to be powered by a 999cc inline-four engine producing 212 bhp, paired with BMW’s race-derived electronics and aerodynamic package.

 

The Isle of Man TT remains an important part of BMW Motorrad’s racing legacy. More recently, BMW riders such as Peter Hickman and Davey Todd have secured multiple wins aboard the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR on the Mountain Course, with Hickman also setting the outright TT lap record in 2023 aboard a BMW M 1000 RR.

BMW has not announced prices and market availability yet, though the motorcycle is expected to command a significant premium over the standard M 1000 RR owing to its exclusivity and collector appeal.

2026 Tata Tiago Facelift Interior Revealed

After previewing the exterior of the 2026 Tiago earlier this week, Tata Motors has now revealed the interior of the updated model ahead of its launch on May 28, 2026. Much like the exterior, the cabin too has undergone a fairly comprehensive redesign, with the hatchback receiving some notable changes.

The most obvious change is the completely redesigned dashboard. Unlike the outgoing Tiago’s slightly cluttered layout, the new cabin adopts a more minimalist theme. The dashboard now features a new floating touchscreen that sits higher up. Below it is a slimmer set of centrally positioned AC vents and a narrow row of physical toggle-like controls. Behind the two-spoke steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster housed in a separate floating pod.

Lower down, the centre console has also been completely reworked. The updated Tiago now gets a rotary gear selector instead of a conventional gear lever, while the gloss black centre tunnel integrates dual cupholders. Moreover, it also gets a dual wireless charging pad setup positioned beneath the climate control panel. Tata has also integrated USB charging ports above the tray.

The climate control unit itself gets a cleaner interface with rotary dials and a smaller gloss-black housing. Meanwhile, the front seats and door pads feature a new dual-tone grey and black upholstery theme. At the rear, rear AC vents can also be spotted behind the centre console, along with a Type-C charging port.

 

Feature-wise, Tata had already confirmed earlier that the updated Tiago will get a 360-degree camera system, evident from the cameras mounted on the ORVMs and front bumper. The touchscreen infotainment system is also expected to be larger than before and support wireless smartphone connectivity.

On the outside, the 2026 Tiago also gets a noticeable visual refresh, especially at the front. The earlier mesh-heavy grille has now been replaced by a cleaner gloss-black panel stretching between the headlamps, while the bumper has been redesigned with a larger blacked-out lower section and sharper detailing around the edges. The rear receives updated LED taillamps featuring a tri-arrow lighting signature connected by a black trim strip across the tailgate.

 

Mechanically, the hatchback is expected to remain unchanged. The Tiago will likely continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, offered with both manual and automatic gearbox options, while the CNG variants are also expected to continue in the lineup.

2026 Honda City Facelift Price, Variants Explained

Honda India rolled out the second facelift of the fifth-gen City recently with prices starting from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift brings with it updates to the sedan’s styling, along with the addition of some much-needed features already offered by rivals in the segment. Mechanically, not a lot has changed with the sedan continuing to be offered with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre petrol strong hybrid powertrain options.

2026 Honda City: Powertrains & Mileage

 

As with the outgoing City, the 2026 City facelift retains the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre petrol-strong hybrid powertrains. The former is good for 119 bhp and 145 Nm and is paired with a manual or CVT gearbox. The strong hybrid pairs an Atkinson cycle engine with two electric motors to offer a combined 125 bhp and 253 Nm. Power is sent to the wheels via an e-CVT unit.

 

In terms of fuel efficiency, Honda claims that the City e:HEV (strong hybrid) will return 27.26 kmpl while the standard petrol sedan has ARAI figures of 17.77 kmpl for the manual and 17.97 kmpl for the CVT.
